Home And Away
The family and I got back from a much needed break at Crystal Springs in Mpumalanga on Sunday, but the fun and sun of the previous week was quickly brought down to earth by the mountain of stuff I realised I had to do this week. That’s the problem with going away - you bump the entire week’s worth of stuff to the next week, and land up with a monster-week when you get back.
Enough complaining though.
Some things you need to know:
Erik Hersman is out from the States and we’re having a meet up at Cappello, Sandton City, on Friday night to welcome him and, well, do what we inevitably do. Make sure you get there - Erik is one of the brains behind Ushahidi and arguably one of Africa’s most qualified and enthusiastic representatives on the global Web scene.
There are also some exciting conferences coming up, and I’ll post more details here and on my Speaking page.
In other news Cerebra’s offices are getting a funky facelift - we’d love you to pop in and see it when it’s done.
Last bit of exciting news is that I’m flying out to Berlin on Monday, courtesy of SAP, to attend their TechEd 2008 conference. It’s going to be brilliant - I’m really looking forward to the promise of outstanding content and more networking opportunities. I’ll keep you posted here and on Twitter of happenings. Much thanks goes to the folks at SAP for inviting me (again). Follow TechEd on Twitter here. Hashtag is #sapteched08.
