Report Back From 27-29 Jozi Dinner
The 29th 27dinner, held on the 25th to accommodate more folks (weekends aren’t ideal for these things), was, I think, an improvement on previous dinners.
The new venue, Cappello in Sandton City, suited our presentation format far better and encouraged a more networky vibe. Thanks to Garsen (the owner) and his team for their refreshingly enthusiastic support of our cause.
I also tried a new format for the input on the evening. The first ‘presentation’ with Jeff Fletcher from ISLabs took the form of an interview, a format that works much better when a corporate is presenting. Or at least I thought so.
The second preso was by Don from Thunk Lab, on the value of perspective. Both presentations seem to have been received well by the audience.
Lastly, apologies if I declared my undying love for you (yes you, you and you) at any point in time in the evening. The tequila and Jack Daniels flowed freely and I err on the emotionally generous side under such conditions. Fun was had by all ![]()

Fun was most certainly had… in abundance!
The venue was much better than Primi! We should definitely have it there again. The food wasn’t brilliant and the service was a bit iffy but I’m sure that is because they are not used to having so many people order at once. I’m sure they will be better prepared next time.
Thanks for another great 27dinner!!
Thanks a lot Mike. I certainly enjoyed the session. It was my first one and I will hopefully be available for the next one.
