Exciting Projects On The Go At Cerebra
Jeepers, things are cooking. We’ve had to really step up a gear in the last few months to respond to the demand for social and mobile media interventions from agencies and companies alike.
I’d like to brag about two projects in particular. Firstly we’re doing work with Internet Solutions in developing IS Labs, an “initiative that challenges braniacs to become a part of an online community where members come up with ideas to make the internet better in South Africa.” We used Drupal (just for a change) to build a Digg-like social bookmarking platform that captures and organises user’s ideas in a democratic, interactive way. It was largely inspired by Dell’s monumentally successful IdeaStorm.
From a social perspective it’s already made an impact and received some attention in the press, and from a technical perspective I think it’s a pretty cool showcase of some of the niftier stuff one can achieve with Drupal (when, of course, the coolest Drupal geeks in the country work for your company).
The second project that’s done particularly well is the Converse Century blog, owing largely to the willingness of the agencies and the brand themselves with whom we’re working on the broader campaign to embrace a 360-degree approach to marketing it. The Converse blog has enjoyed significant traffic because it is often referenced in other campaign material and media, and has begun a self-sustaining community of it’s own with excellent ratios shown between site visits and site interactions. We’re pretty stoked about it
I’ve updated our credentials preso and uploaded it to Slideshare (which duly broke some of the formatting), but if you care…

The IS project is seriously awesome…the ideastorm has always been the ultimate and you guys have seriously done well with this – I believe this is where most companies should be heading.
As for converse – awesome that they incorporated that in ATL and BTL communication too – very very cool indeed!!

Fantastic work – really! I agree with Melissa this is where most companies should be heading – there is so much value to be extracted from what you have done here… great to see IS are progressive enough to take on this format.
