Poll: What Do You Think Of The iPhone 2.0
Opinions around Apple’s updated iPhone, now supporting 3G and GPS (among other features), vary drastically it seems. Some are calling it a revolutionary, strategically brilliant move by Jobs and co, others are saying Bubbleland has lost perspective. What do you say?

What do you think of the iPhone 2.0?
All I know for sure is that Apple are the masters of hype.

It looks like I’m the only anti-Apple person on that poll so far … LOL
I don’t mind shelling out for good hardware. But with the whole Apple cult thing going, I don’t want to get involved.

The results of this poll will tell you so much about your reader’s mindsets :)
You can’t use the iPhone as an external modem? No voice activation? You can’t add memory cards? The features I use the most on my little Samsung, the iPhone can’t match. No thanks.
well, this is the iphone many people where expecting the first time around, so it’s good to finally see it materialise.
it’s not not the most feature rich phone by any means, but iPods aren’t necessarily the best mp3 players either.
apple’s major competitive advantage is how it creates and sells experience. and it’s now moving into areas where that will be a big deal, the corporate market with exchange active sync and the yet to be realised geo/location aware market.
the geo tagging on my n95 is clumsy and annoying, apps leveraging the integrated gps are pretty much non-existant. now with apply making a gambit that is bound to change, and i’m really excited to see what happenes next
The iPhone doesn’t allow external 3G usage? Well, there goes the only reason I was considering potentially getting one.
I’ll stick to Sony Ericsson, thanks…

Hey Mike,
You know me man, I am Apple CRAZY!
Heck, I have been using my cracked (insert cripled) iPhone for almost a year now in South Africa, and it is still just as impressive as the day I got it! I love it to bits!!!
Sure, it doesn’t send multiple SMS’s, it cannot send or receive MMS’s, it only has edge, and you cannot attached it to ANY computer as an external modem (unless you know some serious UNIX sorcery and want to SSH into the phone and share the edge connection via wifi… sure, I do it every day ;-)
Yet, I still love the thing!
So, when the new version comes out I will be close to the front of the line selling my other kidney to get one!
In truth, I think that 3G is a must, I hope they’ve sorted out the bluetooth and MMS / SMS stuff, and that MS Exchange works well (as you know from a post on my blog… I use a Nokia E90 for work, and my iPhone for play… Kind of like driving a Toyota Camry for work, and a BMW Mini for play)… But, this new iPhone may just be the sweet spot!
So, it gets my Apple Vote!
My 4 year old S/E does much much more so why would I want to downgrade?
