It doesn’t matter who you are - if you haven’t yet gorged yourself on the veritable goldmine of inspiration that is the collection of videos of talks presented at TED conferences and freely available at TED.com, you’ve either been hiding under a rock or you need better friends.
For those of you who don’t know yet, this is how the TED site describes the TED phenomenon…
TED stands for Technology, Entertainment, Design. It started out (in 1984) as a conference bringing together people from those three worlds. Since then its scope has become ever broader.
The annual conference now brings together the world’s most fascinating thinkers and doers, who are challenged to give the talk of their lives (in 18 minutes).
This site makes the best talks and performances from TED available to the public, for free. More than 200 talks from our archive are now available, with more added each week. These videos are released under a Creative Commons license, so they can be freely shared and reposted.

Today has been an embarrassingly sentimental day for me. It marks the three year anniversary of my first ever blog post. Ha ha. Had I known in advance the realms of geekiness I would be sucked into I might never have ventured so far, but in retrospect I’m glad I did
Just after that first post on the faith-themed Idle Banter and before starting this blog, much of my creative energy was invested in TomorrowToday’s blog, which you can check out here… My foray into citizen journalism sparked a chain of events that included quitting a comfortable job at this company to work with people at another completely different company, trying to build what I called a ‘blog consultancy’ at the time (yikes) that eventually evolved into Cerebra…

I have a confession to make - I clicked on a banner ad on Facebook. The ad asked whether I was a cricket or rugby expert (aren’t all fans experts??) and encouraged me to share my thoughts and opinions on a new global open source sports network called the Bleacher Report…
