Standard Bank Goes Social In Style
Standard Bank have broken new marketing ground by becoming South Africa’s first major brand (or any brand for that matter) to publish a social media release for our national Pro20 cricket tournament, of which they are the major sponsor. It seems quite appropriate that the progressive, game-changing nature of the 20-over format of cricket should be sponsored by a truly game-changing brand.
The release accompanies the blog we have set up for them, a dedicated Pro20 Twitter feed, YouTube channel, Facebook presence and more. On the mobile side of things there is a Standard Bank Pro20 contact on MXit that is also proving to be extremely popular with the youth market. The release is aimed at bloggers, podcasters, videocasters and online journalists. Already many of you have been kind enough to recognise and share what we’re doing - thanks specifically to Marc, Jean and Kerry-Anne.
This project designed and put together by Brandsh with the expert help of Melissa Attree. Credit must go to Carl, Andrew, Lisa, Angus and basically the whole office gang for rallying around this exciting, ground-breaking project. It could still improve, and I’d love you to send us suggestions of how we could do it better, but we’re pretty darn happy with the result
Still it must be said that it took guts for Standard Bank to step out and collaborate with us in this new, exciting marketing frontier. Bellinda Edge and her online marketing team are forward-thinking, knowledgeable and an alround pleasure to work with. Thanks to you guys for trusting us with the idea!

Congrats on the innovative work with this campaign! I’m very impressed with the social media release.
Mike, thanks very much for the positive feedback. This was a very exciting initiative for us which we hope will help us improve and make our mareketing efforts more relevant. Thanks to Melissa and the Brandsh team for making it happen… you guys are awesome!
Thanks
Bellinda Edge

I covered the Social Media Release here. [...]
