Results Of The Afrigator.com 1TH1NG Competition
Congratulations to the following three suggestions for improvements to Afrigator, which according to my records, where the leading submissions on the Muti Hot page last night at 22h00:
- Nic Haralambous
Nic suggested that we bring competitive rankings back to Afrigator.
In my honest opinion I think Afrigator has lost some fight since it decided not to rank blogs against one another. We, as bloggers, have egos. We also believe that we are the best and like to pit ourselves against one another.
Afrigator offers a unique opportunity that sites like Amatomu don’t. Continent-wide competition.
- Saul Kropman
Saul believes Afrigator is too political and would like more balanced content on the front page.
My biggest issue with Afrigator is that whenever I go there the newest blog post or podcast are often something from Ghana or Kenya… Afrigator is incredibly political. What I mean by this is that often on the front page there are only political related posts. I think users should be able to customise their home page.
- Charl van Niekerk
Charl wants Afrigator to give him (and everyone else) an API.
Basically the short version is that I am suggesting that Afrigator provide the ability for third-party developers to extend its functionality and integrate it into their own applications like Twitter and many other web services.
Thanks for the suggestions guys. They are all good and all being slotted in to the development cycle as we speak. Hopefully, as things evolve we will have more time to pour into these nifty ideas.
Guys, please mail me at mike[at]cerebra[dot]coza so I can organise your respective prizes!

Congrats! I’m pretty new to Afrigator, but the one thing that stands out for is that the country selection on the home page is too low down. It is something that should be within line of sight. Just an idea
