To all that attended the 27dinner in Jozi tonight, thanks for making it an awesome success. Special thanks goes to the speakers - Gareth from Buzzfuse (congrats on the recent growth guys!), Jonathan Miller from ForgeBusiness (viva Las Vegas!), Jo Duxbury from Freelancentral (and the Oscar for the best PPT slides in history goes to…) and last but not least Brian from Blue Catalyst.

I’d also like to acknowledge Vanessa Clark from Clickatell who very generously picked up the corkage fee for our Stormhoek wine (once again generously provided by Graham Knox and gang), Blue Catalyst for organising a very cool PA system and sponsoring everyone’s desserts and the inimitable Eric Edelstein of Springleap.com for throwing a free T-shirt into the mix

Finally I need to make two apologies - firstly many of you will wonder why I disappeared so suddenly and without saying goodbye to anyone. I received a phone call to inform me that a member of my family was not well and I decided to get home as soon as possible. Sorry for my rudeness - I did not intend to offend anyone. The good news is I can report that all appears to be well.

The second apology belongs to Simon Botes who was there representing The Grid (he is also involved in Fring). Simon was kind enough to offer me a very nifty Grid T (and you know how I feel about T-shirts) and all he wanted was a brief opportunity to speak in the open mic slot, which I totally forgot about due to some time pressure from another booked party upstairs. Simon was very gracious though and I hope he got a chance to speak after all… If not, dude, you’ll be first on the list next time.
