2nd Annual New Media Marketing Conference, Gallagher Estate, Day One
We all shuffled in to Gallagher Estate (after navigating Jozi’s worst traffic) this morning in expectation of what we hoped would be a half decent conference… and a lekker kuier to boot. The turnout from actual delegates was slightly underwhelming but generally the standard of the content on the day was above average. My highlights…

The first two sessions set a good foundation for the rest of the conference – Rudolph Muller with and overview of SA’s broadband reality and Justin Hartman with an brief intro to SEO and social media. Looking forward to seeing more case studies though…
Eric Edelstein did an excellent job getting us all very excited about his passion, affiliate marketing, and Arthur Goldstuck brought us the hard (but not necessarily cold) realities of mobile and blogging stats here in South Africa – check out my Twitter feed for those details.
Highlights for the rest of the day included Colin Daniels talking to us about innovative new strategies that The Times Online has been experimenting with.
All in all a good day – I’m looking forward to tomorrow
