What Happens In Vegas…
…will inevitably be documented on this blog :)
That’s right – about a month after I get back from DEMO ’08 I’ll be flying out again, this time to Las Vegas, to attend MIX08 – “an intimate opportunity for cutting-edge technical, creative and business strategists to engage Microsoft in a conversation about the future of the web”.
This time I’m going as a spectator and not as a speaker after receiving an invite to join Microsoft South Africa‘s party as a blogger. Meeting the local Microsoft guys was a revelation – they are not what I expected at all. Gavin Warrener (who was a successful entrepreneur for some time before joining Microsoft) and Kath Roderick where accessible, fun and clued up, and Kath even uses a Mac :) (running Vista of course).
This is an experience I’m really looking forward to, not only for the obvious reasons of being able to see Vegas and soak in the the Strip from the luxury of the Venetian hotel and casino, but also because Microsoft is a company I want to get to know better.
I’ll be sure to keep you updated on the trip and the conference right here.
Congrats Mike! I hope it rocks! Looking forward to the live blogging :)
Mike,
Assuming that you get your visa in order this time !-)
I still hope to see you at an SAP event one of these days.
Thomas
@Thomas – I’m still heartbroken over that stuff up, but learned a valuable lesson in the process. Booked my visa interview as much in advance as possible :) Have passport organised!
I can’t wait until the next SAP event, if I still crack an invite :)
Must pay a visit to the Hard Rock Hotel!!!!!
