My CNBC Interview
Yikes. TV. I don’t like it. Radio is bad enough but I get seriously nervous when I have a TV interview. On 6 June I had my first interview with CNBC Africa around social media adoption in general in South Africa and how it relates to business, both internally and externally. It was a crazy interview - CNBC were 3 days into their official launch and had been suffering power cuts that day - despite which they were phenomenally organised and professional.
Nevertheless, I was very nervous (and I think it shows), but I thought it turned out ok. What say you? Did I do us justice?

Great interview Mike!
Great point with the difference in tools and trends and the underlying aspect of social media. I also think it’s a totally different way of communication and something that consumers (people) have been looking for for quite some time.
Mike! Very polished dude; although you did say that YouTube cuts across gender AND sex. It’s an unforgiving medium guy; but at least I know what was on your mind that night. But hey PRIME TIME TV!! I know it’s so old media but we grew up with the tube man so I think it’s awesome that you were on and you did a rocking job!
Hey everybody! This guy rocks!!
Great interview, I like that you mentioned that Marketing should be integrated into niches and ‘add value’ to the consumer.
Was the lady saying “Cereba”? Sounds like she did.
Dude, very well played, I didn’t pick up on the nerves at all - very impressed.
I’m gonna make me a shirt, “I know Mike Stopforth.” Go rockstar…!
