I joined up and went there looking for possibly extra developers to help with some development, and turns out all of the other developers who attended also had a lot of work on their plate, which is why they attended hoping to find other php developers to help them :) Telling me.

I am a PHP developer, with a decent number of years of experience, and I find myself receiving a number of calls out of the blue from companies asking me to come in for interviews. What I have noticed is that companies are trying to 'buy' up developers, secure them on a contractual basis, as out sourcing development work is getting far too expensive. Freelance developers are charging huge amounts, and are making a fortune, because they know they are in need. This in turn is increasing the want for companies to hire permanent staff.
