Wow, I think we’re finally seeing the beginnings to a solution to the online / digital music debacle.
Unfortunately at the moment their new model for free downloads doesn’t seem to work yet. Buying songs still only offer the option of entering your credit card details with no option of downloading an ad-funded song. The streaming works great though, even on our avian carrier based connection at the office.
And while it’s still a brand spanking new service one can’t help but think that maybe they should’ve launched with a slightly bigger music catalog. There’s literally only a handful artists on there at the moment and even people with very mainstream music taste will find it hard to find something
I’m still a little wary as I’m not sure how I’ll react to the ad interjections into my music as it is different than the non-intrusive contextual ads on the web but I guess in a couple of months we might be taking it for granted

Hi Mike, so after the Digital Marketing Conference last week I set up some Google alerts on free music downloads, and this article on we7 came up….
