Not A Good Morning

Posted in Life, etc.

I woke up this morning, eventually, with a mild headache, after what I thought was another pretty successful installment of the 27 Dinner. Thanks to all the speakers and of course Stormhoek who contributed to the success of the event

But the headache, which persists, is the least of my concerns. On top of the hectic-ness of Cerebra’s current business reality, losing my ID last week and having a passport that is now out of date (enough admin to sink someone like me), I managed to beat all the odds, even Rich…!’s, and have no less than two car accidents in the space of an hour this morning.

First was courtesy of a dude that reversed into me in the airport in the midst of ACSA-related chaos - there were no parkings available on any of the four floors in the domestic terminal - nice - which stressed everyone out. It was a love tap though so I wasn’t very bugged.

Once I’d left the airport I headed off to a client meeting and while distracted by the Gmail app on my phone, neglected to notice a Corolla slowing to turn in front of me. Head up, panic, ABS, screech, ouch. Number two. What a ball ache.

I thought I was having a bad day.

You have to try and look at the funny side of it, cos it certainly makes a funny tale.

Hopefully it can only get better from here!

My car was also broken into last week monday, radio stolen broken window, damaged body, screwed up immobilzer and R2000 excess later.
Oh well, when life gives you sh*t, make lemonade.

[...] I saw passion last night at the 27 dinner, which has been started by the Cerebra team consisting of future strategist Mike Stopforth, and the dynamic and motivational Dave Duarte, who works a few blocks away from me in Cape Town, and who inspires me with his enthusiasm on a regular basis.
