Who Knows e-Commerce?
Hey, a call for help. I have a friend who is looking for a solid e-Commerce solution on her website. It’s not my strong point, so I offered to ask you lot if you can recommend something to her. Ideally it should integrate with a CMS and be able to facilitate international purchases.
Any ideas?

Mike, Web Africa apparently help you step-by-step to start an e-commerce site. Maybe that could be an option?
OScommerce works ok for this too.
Depends on what CMS she is using. Joomla got a good e-Commerce plugin called VirtueMart. Drupal I’m not sure of. As Tyler said, some hosts got OS Commerce, Zen Cart and others. All depends on her flavour! Ask her to send me an email and I’ll give her advice.
I second Stii. Try VirtueMart with a Joomla CMS system.
Drupal’s e-commerce system is solid and a bit of a biatch to configure. Fortunately ubersoft has released ubercart for Drupal. It’s featureset is listed at:
http://www.ubercart.org/what_is_ubercart
and it’s fully extensible by Drupal’s modules et al

I would recommend ShopDirect.co.za

What about google’s shopping cart? It integrates well with most of the major commerce packages like oscommerce. is really cool. I haven’t used it myself though, but it really looks cool, that plus everybody loves google, and trusts google!
Try Wosbee (www.wosbee.com) Hosted webshop with easy management interface.
Just for the record. Ubercart was not developed by Ubersoft. I am not certain who Ubersoft is, but I know we (the Ubercart developers) are not them.
Peace,
Andy
Doh. Add lots of gaming and drupal and it was bound to happen as an association
Apologies for the error Andy and kudos on ‘the cart’.
