At any given point in time I have a whole lot of serious work stuff happening, and one or two absolutely meaningless, pointless exercises (or experiments) on the cards.

One such experiment has been coined the Mac Metamorphosis Meme (or mmmeme for short). I recently bought a black 13″ Macbook to replace my aging Thinkpad. I was messing around with Photo Booth and iSight and realised the results could be quite viral, if not completely humiliating, when shared. So we set up a WordPress site (Gregor helped with design – dude it needs a new header, and Rafiq helped with tech) that automatically aggregates pics from flickr (provided they are tagged with ‘mmmeme’) and posts them to the blog with a sexy Ajax rating system.

There are still some bugs to sort out (actually, the bugs seem to be database issues on flickr’s side) but it seems to be working fairly well! If you have any suggestions for making it better, faster or sexier, let me know. If you have a Mac, upload your iSight experiments to flickr with the ‘mmmeme‘ tag. If you don’t have a Mac, shame. Find someone who does or buy one and get it over with.
