Venue for 27 Confirmed
Apologies to those of you who were getting itchy about our lack of organisation around the upcoming 27 geek dinner right here in Jozi.
We’ve confirmed with Primi Piatti Rosebank once again, simply on the basis that our last dinner there was a success and we know what to expect.
However, because it’s a Saturday evening they cannot offer us exclusivity in the Studio (the back part of the restaurant where we were last time), and have asked that if we’re going to do preso’s and speaking that we finish off by 19h00. That means we’ll need to kick off at 17h00 (that’s 5pm for you Peas).
It’s not ideal, but maybe not an altogether bad thing either. Please note that because we don’t have exclusivity ordinary patrons (non-geeks) will be welcome in and out of the Studio.
Here’s what I need from you, GEEKS OF JOHANNESBURG:
1. Please spread the word on your sites - that way everyone will get there on time and hopefully we’ll have enough people to cram into the Studio so that no-one else can fit in
2. Invite as many people in your networks as possible to add their names to the wiki
3. Rinse and repeat.
I look forward to seeing you there!

Hi Mike, can I come hijack your gathering and spread the word about the Online Industry Summit? I read lot of mixed reaction from other blogs about the summit. Some complaining about the cover price, some about the webpage, some complaining because they are not invited, some say is too basic for them. Anymore to comment about the Summit? Let me know if you need a brochure…
so i thought we should have a dress theme - like jocks and cheerleaders - what do u think?
Hey, sounds cool - but what would you come as?!
I’d come as the whole scrum!
lol Carls, I initally read it as “only in Jocks /Jockey’s” Lol there’s a party theme for ya.
Aquila - i like where your heads at
Goodman, it’s not really a commercial event but you’d be welcome to come in, punt the Summit and have a convo with the geeks, if you’d be willing to offer up a free ticket to the event as a prize on the evening.
Not a bad idea, but you may find me holding a placard at one intersection after the event. How about one person, just one, attending your event buys a tickert then I can offer one for free as a prize at the event. Anyone interested?
