Happy Spring – Neotel (THE SNO) is Here

I’ve been overwhelmed at the veritable tsunami of Happy Spring messages I’ve received today. Either it’s a passing fad or I’m a lot more popular than I remember being last year.

Today also marks the 12th Anniversary of my First Kiss. You don’t care a dog’s blister for that, though. What you WILL care about is the official launch of South Africa’s Second National Telcoms Operator!!! Stand up and be recognised NEOTEL!!! [via Hellkom]

Now I’ve had my bit to say about Telkom in the past, there’s no secret there (fair bit of trouble embedded in that lil’ story too). But it really felt like this day would just never come.

Now as much as experience has taught me (thanks F. Scott Fitzgerald) to “reserve all judgements as a matter of infinite hope” – I just want to dive right in. Couldn’t care less about waiting to see if it works or not. Don’t give a tortoise.

    Hooray! Competition! I was researching this in varsity as part of my computer science degree, and BACK THEN (2002) was SUPPOSED to be the time the SNO launched. I think Telkom has done a great job of delaying them by 4 years.
