Blogger and all-round nice person Kerry Somers has launched Ubuntunet - “a site dedicated to showcasing small business and professionals for visitors seeking shops and services in South Africa that are neither contained within a physical shopping mall nor large enough to warrant an expensive advertising budget”.

This is a cool niche - I get asked at least once a day “how does my business get recognised on the Web if I have no technical knowledge, and without spending a fortune…” - Kerry has a nice idea and I hope it does well.
